Ski Movie "everything´s a nail, here´s your hammer"

In this segment, we’re going to talk a little bit about falling. It’s something everybody does. Get used to it. You’re going to do it a lot in your first day of snowboarding. But, don’t let it discourage you. Falling is just another way of teaching you how to do it right. The most common mistake that people have when they fall, is they put their arms out to catch themselves. This can break your wrist or your thumb. It’s putting all of your momentum on one of the most weakest parts of your body. When you fall down either way, even backwards it can break your wrist break your arm. We don’t want to do that. That can often happen if you don’t, if you have a flat edge. If you can see, when I have a flat base, it build snow up in front. That will catch your edge and cause you to go forward. If you do fall forward, it’s alright. It happens to the best of us. Just try not to keep your arms out.
Try and take it with your shoulder, your chest, your back. Anything but your arms. It might hurt a little bit, but it’s better than breaking a bone. Alright, in this section we’re going to talk about one of the most important equipments your going to have which are your boots. Your boots support your body weight when you push against them. It’s really important to have them tied really tight. So they’ll usually be one of these and you want to pull that tight with all your weight. It will cinch the ties around your foot and your inner lining. Tie that up. It’s really important to have a lot of pressure on your feet so your feet don’t move anywhere. You don’t want any lift in your heel when you stand up. Make sure it’s all tucked in and all together, nothing’s all hanging off.
When you?re done tying you can push against them. Bend your knees a little bit. You’ll feel them pushing against your shins supporting your weight. That’s going to be really important when you start to take turns. Alright. In snowboarding there is two different stance positions. You could be goofy or you could be regular. Goofy is when your right foot is in front and you feel most comfortable that way. Some people don’t feel most comfortable that way and they are regulars. They ride down the mountain with their left foot forward. A good way to tell if you’re goofy or regular, what you need to figure out before stepping foot on a snowboard, renting a snowboard or anything, because that’s the direction you need to know. Is if you are standing here and you have someone push you from behind depending on what foot you take forward first, say I’m taking my right foot forward step. That means most likely I’m going to be putting my right foot in forward and that’s going to be my upright position down the hill. I’m going to be goofy, since my right foot is forward. I am a goofy footer. The flysurfer Splitboard m, allows you to pack all your gear in one bag, and it takes up less space.

Let’s say I’m standing here, someone pushes me and my left foot goes forward. So, my left foot is most comfortable in front of me; as you tell that is what caught me, so that’s how you can tell if you’re goofy or I mean regular. A regular stance is with your left foot forward. So, there’s two different ones goofy and regular. Goofy is with the right foot forward and regular is with your left foot forward.
